This is not helpful! The Lord has designed you to love one woman as your wife, and all Christian women as your sisters. Here are a few practical ways to cultivate a Godly mindset. 1. Trust God with your future. Acknowledge that a godly wife is a gift from God, and not something that we find and give ourselves. 2. Think about eternity! Idolizing marriage can lead to storing up treasures here on earth. Do you think 100,000 years from now, that you are going to be remembering the hours and years worrying about marriage as a good investment of your time and affections here on earth? Christ offers us a much better way. Trust Him with your future, and He will withhold no good thing. That will free your time and mind to truly love the guys and girls that you have been surrounded by. 3. 'Your Kingdom come.' By desiring to see Christ's Lordship and Kingdom advanced, you will seek to point the eyes of your sisters to Him, and not to yourself. That is the greatest and most loving thing we as brothers can do. If we truly care for our sisters, than we first seek to encourage them and exhort them in the worship our King. It does not serve girls in the church to be viewed primarily as potential prospects. We must first see them as soul's redeemed by the Cross of Christ, and therefore joint heirs of His righteousness, and the kingdom of God. Marriage is a great thing to plan and pray for. However, idolizing marriage can be one of the biggest enemies to true and meaningful friendships. When we are consumed with questions like WHO am I going to marry,' we will begin to categorize the girls we are surrounded by as "potential", or "not potential". Because we are consumed with thinking about marriage, and evaluating accordingly, we will also assume that everyone else is also thinking in the same terms.
This was wonderful! Thanks a lot!
